Installing the Situate UI on OS X

This document describes how to install the Situate UI on OS X.

Step 1. Download the Installer

Go to XonaSoftware's Download page, expand the section for the version you want to install, expand MAC OS X (El Capitan), and click "Viewer" to download the installer.

Step 2. Run the Installer

The installer is a .dmg file. Run the .dmg file and drag situate into the applications directory.

Step 3. Run Sitpm

Run situate by going to the Applications folder and double clikcing it.

Java Virtual Machine

Situate UI requires a 1.8 Java virtual machine. Because of changes Oracle made to Java licensing, XonaSoftware cannot distribute the Java virtual machine. See How do I install Java for my Mac? for more information.

Amazon Coretto -- Experimental

Amazon Coretto is a free Java implementation supported by Amazon. You may use these instructions to install Coretto instead of an Oracle JVM.

The use of situate with Coretto is experimental at this time.
